There is a fire burning on a mountain a few miles from our home right now. It has created quite the attraction as a lot of people in the neighborhood (including me, Elora, and Creature) are outside taking pictures. We are okay - it's still far enough away that I'm not concerned about it reaching our little hill.
Interestingly, I was working on something on the computer and decided to check the news. I read the story about the fire and Elora and I looked out our back window and saw this photo. The second photo is two blocks away from my home. I'll post more later - gotta go get my kids from their first day of school!

Are you sure Connor is in school? Have you checked?
Hope first day funness is going fabulously!!
Okay anonymous - that was the creepiest comment I've ever received!! Of course I hopped on the phone and found out that it was my dear husband that made that comment. He tells me that he meant to suggest that maybe Connor started the fire and wasn't in school. I totally took it the wrong way. Reminded me of the movie "when a stranger calls" and the babysitter gets a phone call from someone that says "have you checked the children?". lol. Not funny husband! ;)
Yikes...stay safe! Hope your kids had a great first day. Tomorrow mine go!
LOL, Oh someone is in the dog house!!
Keep us posted! Hope the first day was a great one!
I know you are busy woman--and working hard to create and keep balance in your life--but I sure enjoy your posts and your honey's anonymous posts. I rarely find stuff that is truly LOL but yours is always fabulous! And the shot from your back yard looks a little scary--and this is from the woman with a son who tempts the Fire gods on a regula basis! Keep us posted!
Todd!!
That looks scary to me. I hope they get it out soon. That was an amazing picture Red. I can't believe how close it looks in that shot. Yikers.
I, too, am actually laughing outloud about your husband's anonymous comment. Sometimes they just don't underSTAND the kinds of things that go through our minds!!!! =D
Forest/mountain fires.....isn't living in utah great?
Jode -
I totally could tell that was Todd posting the anonymous question, and I understood the humorous implication. Must be a guy thing. Saw the smoke at lunch today. I was up at Cafe Trang.
Cheers.
Wow when I first saw the report on KSL just barely and heard Draper , I was worried about Deans mom. However I learned that it was moving away from her and toward you. Scary. I sure hope they get that out soon. Keep us posted.
Thanks Fe2o3 (Rusty) I appreciate your understanding. I must go now to open the jar Jodi is begging me to open and to fix the air conditioner for her cats, etc.

Wow that fire looks close by but glad your ok.
How did the first day of school go for the kiddos?
HAHAHAHA.... NOT funny.
I DO remember when 2 of my sons and 2 of their friends DID start a fire on a hill... a lady saw them do it and called 911!!! The firemen came, put it out and had a serious talk with the boys! Glad nothing serious HAPPENED! I think he scared them... no more fires!
that is quite a fire! but what a glorious view you have! I felt the creepy thing. It must be a mom thing but I do see husband's humor!
