When cooking goes very wrong...

Do you ever have one of those days when things just turn out wrong? Today is that day for me.
My good intentions in the kitchen failed miserably.
Enjoy my misery...
These are supposed to be magic bars.

Being the die hard chocolate lovers that we are - we're still going to try a taste.

Apparently I did something wrong with this loaf of bread.
Oh yeah - we're still going to eat it - I'm off to fetch a chisel!
Tell me I'm not the only one with days like this...

Oh dang! I hate that! I'm sure it was the oven's fault and not yours. Sorry, but that bread is making me lol.

I think everyone has days like that....just keep trying. And breadmakers are evil....they only make good bread if they like you, lol.

That video was really funny! Sorry about all the kitchen failures today. I can completely relate.

Don't worry JLW - we all have days like that. I have not once but TWICE burnt my usually tasty garlic bread because I got busy and forgot I put it in to broil. The second time I burnt it, I had even PROMISED myself I was going to watch it. Yup, still burnt it. As I'm sure you're aware, cursing followed shortly thereafter. And I can never get my damn bread to rise either. Hrmph.

Jodi, I have waaaay too many of those days. I think that's why my husband is the cook 90% of the time! ;0)

I'm feeling SO relieved! It's not just me! I have these things happen all the time. Whew.

Everyday is a new day. We have good ones and then we have flops. Have fun sawing the bread. I have done that too. We know the score and those days.

Oh I want to laugh but I know how upsetting this is. I hate it when you spend so much time creating something and then it doesn't turn out the way you expected. Hey, there is a metaphor there somewhere. This is what life can be like at times. anyway keep trying.

Oh, I too have cooking days like that....don't feel bad. One time I managed to cook the outside of a meatloaf to perfection only to find the inside completely RAW!! To this day, I still don't know what I did to make that happen!!

Ha Ha! Oh no, this never happens to me. Never! All of my cooking always turns out perfect.
And it didn't burn BOTH of the pies I made for Thanksgiving either.
Nope. Didn't happen.

Are you kidding? I don't have to call the family for dinner, they just come into the kitchen when they hear the smoke alarm go off!!!!

Hahahaha-I can relate-our Thanksgiving was a disaster this year....but we still had fun!

I feel your pain! nothing I cook ever turns out as good as if some one else were to make it.

Every time I use my bread maker I create rock instead.

I can't relate. Sorry.

Actually, I've made much worse looking bread than that.

I'd still eat the magic bars. Not much would keep me from them!

I have seen you all over the place, so I stopped by to say hi. Do you live in Draper or near hoodoos? I am in Cedar City, so I actually knew what hoodoos were when I saw your blog!

And yes, I have made lumpy, rock hard bread. Many times, unfortunately.
