Todd is soooo Busted

Tonight I was hanging up clothes in our closet.

Very innocent looking, don't you think?

As I was looking for a spare hanger, I found this...

A grocery bag was tucked neatly between his shirts.

Huh?

Upon closer inspection (because inquiring minds really want to know), I found this....

The motherload of chocolate.

Several things jostled around in my mind as I scurried for the camera to blog about my findings.
Why did he hide chocolate? Is he afraid I will get mad? That's silly - we have a pretty darn good marriage and he doesn't have to worry about 'hiding' things from me.

Did he forget that there is a stash of leftover halloween candy in our living room?

So after teasing him relentlessly (because that's my job), I asked him why he hid the chocolate.
The reason?

This kid.
Connor is our resident chocoholic and can sniff out the edible goodness within minutes.

Apparently, Todd wanted to hide some for himself before Connor got to it.

The perfect ending to a weekend. I love my little family and their shenanigans.

But, do tell - do you hide things from your kids? Do you have secret stashes?

So cute. I use to hide candy from the kids. But know they know all my hiding places so I just share. Better for everyone. m

I got such a good laugh out of this! Seriously made me laugh hard. You know, I HAVE tried to hide some fave foods I've wanted, but my Beagle with the nose from hell sniffs it out, takes it out, and eats it. The little stink. Other than that, I'm good! How about you?

Well duh! Of course! We hid all the kids candy with the intention of dolling it out carefully each day. They had an embarassing amount of it after all the activities. Daddy finally had to give it all back to them because HE kept eating it!

Okay, fine. I did too. We're such crappy parents- we take away their treats and eat some of them ourselves!

I hide presents in my closet and sometimes I bring in scrappin' purchases and put them on the table with all my other stuff so he won't see anything new! LOL

I have little stashes hidden here and there. But so does hubby. I will buy something and hide it and then declare "this old thing" when it comes out hiding :)

Conner should work for Hersheys. That funny Todd man.

Don't we all? I have stashes everywhere. So does my husband, but I generally know where he hides his. Good for you for getting the camera to capture that! haha

This is HILARIOUS!!!! I've never known a man to have a chocolate stash!! Apparently chocolate is a popular commodity among the men in your house!

I very much applaud his tactic, though. Kudos.

I admit to secret stashes every now and then. If I kept one all the time it would be continuously depleted, in which case I would waste MORE money and gain MORE weight. So I seek moderation in my stashes.

Man you guys are HILARIOUS! Thanks for the blog comment, you guys are great neighbors so just SHUT UP. We love Ellie, so I guess we'll keep her. Your welcome over anytime to meet her! And sorry we weren't at church yesterday- we had a family homecoming to be at in SLC. We'll have to follow your blog for some more laughs, for sure!

I totally have secret candy stashes. My kids come to me, daily, asking me for candy from my secret stashes...

I always tell them I don't have any... that is until they go to ALL the hiding places and finally bust me.

MMMMM chocolate! Only the good stuff is stashed. My kids aren't old enough to search thru the cupboards.

I am rearranging my blogs and you follow one of them.

For those of you who follow Jess's mess or THIS IS IT...
I merged my 3 main blogs into one. All you need to do is drop by and click on "follow me" and you'll be good to go!

Yes, I do. And my hubby does too. Mostly from the kids or they'd eat it all and they get enough junk as it is. We also have little cash stashes. He thinks I don't know about his, but I do. I know he doesn't know about mine. It's for those (shopping) emergencies.

My mom is a serious choco-holic and one year she bought a box of chocolates and then asked my dad to hide them so she wouldn't get into them; so he did. Then next day she went looking for them. She could smell them. However, she could not find them. After a second day of searching she finally approached my dad and asked him where he hid the chocolates because the smell was driving her crazy. He promptly walked over to the baby grand piano, lifted the lid, and handed her a chocolate. We've laughed about that for years and my mom has never asked him to hide chocolate for her again.
